Independent Consultant Engineer Services For Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Malaysia

The Government has decided to implement the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transport (KVMRT) project to improve the public transport ridership and ease the urban traffic congestions.Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd.(SPNB) has been appointed as the asset and project owner for the Project.The first line to be implemented is the stretch from Sg.Buloh to Kajang (SBK), estimated to cost about RM 18 to 20 billion.The SBK line is 51km long, with 41.5km elevated and 9. 5km underground.There will be a total of 31 stations,out of which 7 are underground .16nos. Park & Ride facilities with multi level car parks are proposed.Some of the stations are proposed to be integrated with existing stations of KTMB, ERL, LRT, and Monorail via interchanges.

The underground portion consists of twin tunnels , 5.8m internal diameter .The tunnels are formed by using TBM’s whilst the underground stations are by cut & cover method. The underground stretch traverses through Kenny Hill and KL Limestone formations over the northern half and southern half respectively . The KL Limestone is karstic in nature and is expected to pose a major challenge for both the tunneling works and the station works.

The design works for the SBK line are ongoing and the main construction works are scheduled to commence early 2012 . The targeted completion and opening of the SBK line is early 2017 . SPNB has appointed MMC – Gamuda as their Project Delivery Partner (PDP), who would be responsible for the planning, design, procurement, construction, integration, testing and commissioning and eventual handover of the project to SPNB.

Elevated Guideway Structure For Light Rail Transit (LRT), Malaysia

Engaged by Putra Bhd as Lead Consultant in association with Halcrow and De Leuw Cather, the Putra – LRT network is a 29km stretch that is being constructed under two sections.Section 1 of the project stretches 14 .1km from the Lembah Subang depot station to the Pasar Seni station and will be operational by mid – September 1998 . While Section 2 will stretch 14 . 9km from the Pasar Seni station to Gombak and will be ready by 1999.

Ipoh Padang Besar Electrified Double Tracking Project, Malaysia

HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd (HSSI) is responsible for the design of road geometric, junction, bridge, geotechnical, hydrology, drainage, road marking and road furniture, the design of electrical, design and installations,namely traffic signal and street lighting.

The consultant shall complete the detailed design for the proposed project . Detail design for the proposed project shall achieve the key objective of minimizing the construction while maintaining with the standards identified in Design Brief.

Ampang (AMG) Line Extension Project, Malaysia

Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasarana) is the asset owner for LRT Kelana Jaya Line, Ampang Line and bus services within Kuala Lumpur with RAPID KL being the operators . Prasarana intend to enhance the LRT services by reaching and serving new areas to help alleviate traffic congestion in the city .To this end, it has proposed to extend the Ampang Line to enhance the service provided to the population of Kuala Lumpur . Prasarana has appointed HSSI to undertake the Detailed Design and Consultancy Services for the project.

Scope

  • The Consultant shall provide the professional engineering (i.e. Civil and Structural Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and System Works), architectural and quantity surveying services relating to all specialized and detailed design as well as supervision of the works.
  • The general services, facilities design (conventional contract) and system design (design and build contract) shall comprise of planning and submission to relevant approving authorities, design of route alignments and guide -ways, foundations, structures, architectural designs, M&E all related infrastructure system design and the preparation of Tender Documents.
  • The Consultant shall also prepare the Performance Specifications for the System Works as these Works are intended to be executed through a Design and Build Contract.
